The Appointment System
This has been designed to give patients the choice of being seen either within 48 hours with any doctor or at a later time with a particular doctor of their choice.
All surgeries are by appointment.
Appointments can be made through our receptionists by calling at the surgery, by telephone or online via our website. Please make one appointment per person to be seen. The length of all single appointments is 10 minutes. If you cannot attend your appointment, please let us know so that we can allocate it to someone else.
We offer 2 types of appointment:
Advance booking – if you wish to book an appointment for more than 2 days ahead with a specific doctor please advise the receptionist. You are free to see any doctor in the practice, not necessarily the one with whom you are registered.
Monday – Friday : 9:00 – 10:00 am 3:30 – 5:00 pm
48 Hour Appointments – if you wish to be seen within 48 hours we have doctors on duty each day to cater for these requests. Please note that you will not be able to request a specific doctor for this type of appointment. Please try and ring the surgery between 8.30 - 10.00 a.m. as we normally arrange an appointment for that morning, usually between 11 – 12.30.
Patients with an urgent problem will be able to see a GP as soon as possible that day. Emergencies are given priority and immediate care given where appropriate.
We kindly ask that you telephone the surgery to book an appointment rather that turn up without an appointment and request to be seen.
EMERGENCIES OUTSIDE SURGERY OPENING HOURS:
Lunchtime - Monday to Friday (12.30 - 2.00pm)
Ring the surgery and you will be given a number to call and speak to a doctor on call for emergencies only.
Evenings / Nights, Weekends and Bank holidays:
Emergency cover during these hours is provided by the South & East Belfast Out-of-hours service based at Foster Green Hospital (telephone - 028 9079 6220). The Eastern Health and Social Services Board is responsible for commissioning this service.
